Keep it going

226 active days out of 271 days in 2025 (~83%) so far! Really happy with how things are going. Brief update:

  • Really happy with consistency. It has become second nature to get a workout going daily. The breaks are due to overseas trips and bouts of flu.
  • Having adequate sleep has been an issue. I had a significant spike in office workload for the third quarter of the year and that led to very poor sleep. This correlated with me getting flu. Intend to try get at least 7 hours of sleep per night.
  • I have mixed in some weight training as it is important for aging. I need to do weights more consistently and have days where I do both cardio and strength, but this will depend on available time.
  • I will also try to work on volume in on weekends. The kids growing and becoming a tad more independent (they can now play on their own!) and my wife’s strong support helps.

Gear wise, I have been eyeing the Fenix Pro 8 but cannot justify it unless my Epix 2 breaks down. There were hints of this for a good part of this year when the altitude meter and barometer did not seem to function. But it has recovered on its own so I won’t be upgrading for now.
